Privacy
AccuGo collects the minimum data needed to make the app useful. This page breaks down what's stored where, who can see it, and how to remove it.
What's stored on your device
- Your food list (custom foods you created).
- A local cache of community foods you've searched for or added.
- Every daily entry you've logged.
- Settings (tracking mode, exchange size, time grouping, etc.).
- Individual names you've configured.
- If signed in: your email address (kept in iOS Keychain) and a hashed password (also in Keychain).
What's sent to the server
Only if you're signed in:
- Your food list and daily entries — for backup and sync between devices.
- Your settings and individual names — same reason.
- The email address and password hash you registered with.
- Your device locale on signup — used to derive the country flag on any food you contribute to the community.
If you're not signed in, none of this leaves the device.
What's visible to other users
Only foods you explicitly marked Share with Community. Other users see:
- The food's name, serving definition, weight, and nutrient values.
- A country flag derived from your account locale at signup.
They do not see your email address, your daily log, the names of other foods in your list, or any individual you've configured.
What never leaves your device
- Your password in clear text. Passwords are hashed on-device before being sent.
- Anything from a session where you're signed out / using offline.
- Photos, contacts, location, or any iOS data outside the app.
Email and analytics
AccuGo sends transactional emails through Mailgun: the welcome email at signup and the one-time password reset link when you request one. No marketing emails are sent. The app does not include third-party analytics SDKs — no events are sent to advertising networks or analytics providers from within AccuGo.
Deletion
More → Delete Account permanently removes your server-side records and signs you out of the app. To also remove the local cache on this device, delete the app from iOS after confirming deletion. See Account & backup for caveats about deletion when you have multiple devices.
Children's data
Many AccuGo users track children's diets. The account holder is the parent or guardian; the child's name appears only in Configure Individuals on the account holder's devices and is included on emailed food records to their dietitian. Individual names are visible only on your account and aren't shared with other users in any view.
